Dance/ voice artist Patricia Bardi (USA) & pianist Alex Maguire (England) create performances that build bridges and dismantle boundaries between movement, voice & music. They allow room for the unexpected to emerge while creating finely tuned & evocative characters of emotion, memory and image.

TANGLE is a merry-go-round of invention, all at once lively, poetic, surprising and engaging.

Light Becomes Her
written, composed & performed by Patricia Bardi

In her one woman show, Patricia creates an integrated form of voice, movement and text. Light Becomes Her is a vocal collage weaving the threads of many women’s lives where would they have been but for chance.
- What does the old crone say about the woman at the door?
- How does the intensity of girlhood friendship dissolve and transform?
- When does memory illuminate the future?

This evening length performance brings Patricia’s distinctive style of dynamic vocal work and movement into a vivid and finely layered texture of language, sound and character. These women pulsate in living color as they come alive in performance.

Theater director George Isherwood collaborated with Patricia Bardi on a kaleidoscopic look at one woman and the multiple aspects of the different women inside her.

“This original vocal-dance-artist is so sensitive and brilliant when playing with her breath, voice and with her potential as a actress. ...a dancer full of lively rhythms.”

Berliner Morgenpost, Berlin

“Her voice resonant and forceful. Her dance fast. ...extremely powerful and riveting.

New Dance Magazine, London

“Bardi is obviously a woman of strong ideas ...iconoclastic and indeed it is.”

City Limits Magazine, London
