The program is professionally recognized by ISMETA – the International Somatic Movement Education & Therapy Association. Upon completion of the whole curriculum which consists of six modules participants have acquired the knowledge and experience to become certified practitioners of VMI & Bodywork Practice.
With this professional accreditation graduates are eligible to join ISMETA and become Registered Movement Therapists (RSMT) and/or Somatic Movement Educators (RSME).

AIMS: This professional training program offers an intensive physical training in techniques which develop skills connecting dance, movement, improvisation, breath, voice, physical repatterning and hands-on practice. The aim of the program is to train people to work professionally as complimentary health practitioners, somatic movement therapists, somatic movement educators, performing artists or researchers. Given ones chosen field of interest each person becomes fully adept at working with the body using movement, touch, breath and voice.

VOCAL DANCE is a physical practice that frees the voice to be fully alive and reflected in one´s expressive behavior and movement.

VOICE MOVEMENT INTEGRATION (VMI) Bodywork is an integrative experiential hands-on practice combining voice with movement to stimulate and organize the body’s physical-perceptual-emotional awareness.

1st MODULE

Module I consisting of 175 hours is the foundation course where participants gain an active, experiential knowledge of the principles and techniques involved in the practice of Vocal Dance and VMI & Bodywork Practice. After the completion of the first module participants continue to work more deeply on their integration, and learn in more refined detail the principles and practices of Vocal Dance and VMI & Bodywork Practice.

At least one of the following modules is presented each year and can be taken in any order towards completion of the whole curriculum.

REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPLETION OF TRAINING PROGRAM

A - INDIVIDUAL SESSIONS – 10 Hours
- each participant must complete at least 5 individual sessions with Patricia over the course of the training.

B - CASE STUDIES– when participating in Module 2, 3 & 4 each student must work with 3 individual clients for a total of 5 sessions with each individual and write an evaluation of each session.

C - PROFESSIONAL PROFILE AND AIMS – defining the aims of their professional application of the training by writing a description of the ways they plan to implement the training in their professional life.

D - CREATIVE PROJECT – each person evaluates and presents a fully developed creative work concerning their experiences generated by the training program.
